About

Hi, I’m Patricia.

I’m a graduate Earth Scientist from the University of Oxford and a full-time private tutor specialising in Maths and Physics. I’ve taught students from all around the world, and to me nothing is more rewarding than watching them grow — whether that’s achieving top grades or finally enjoying a subject they once feared.

How I teach

My priority is to help you develop both a deep understanding and practical exam skills, in a stress-free environment. Every lesson is carefully tailored to address your specific needs and learning goals — we usually begin by reviewing the concepts you’re finding most challenging, because understanding comes from solid foundations.

I take great care to explain things clearly, and will happily go over material multiple times — through visuals, analogies, or real-world examples — until it properly makes sense to you. There’s no judgement here, and we move at exactly the pace you need.

What a lesson looks like

  1. Recap. A short review of last lesson’s material to reinforce learning.
  2. Core concept. Work through the new topic together, with worked examples and visuals.
  3. Guided practice. You try problems with me; I’ll catch tricky bits before they become habits.
  4. Exam-style questions. Apply what we’ve covered to past-paper questions, with strategies for tackling each question type efficiently.
  5. Wrap-up. A short summary of what we covered, plus optional homework if you’d like extra material.

Between lessons, I can provide curated worksheets and relevant past-paper problems if you’d like extra material to work on. You’re always welcome to bring any problem that confused you — we’ll break it down step-by-step together.
